The East African CSR Awards are the first of their kind, celebrating excellent corporate social responsibility in Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda businesses. The event was hosted by the East African Business Council (EABC) at the Southern Sun Hotel in Dar es Salam, Tanzania in association with the World Economic Forum Africa on the 4th of May 2010.
KenCall submitted a paper on the Kenya Farmers Helpline – ‘Huduma Kwa Wakulima’ and got shortlisted in the in the category of Environmental Excellence Award. This is not what we were short listed for….
KenCall’s CEO, Nicholas Nesbitt attended the event and noted: ‘KenCall got an honorary mention for the enormous role that we have played in promoting socially sustainable development in Africa.’
The main aim of the awards was to highlight good CSR practice by recognizing what constitutes best-in-class CSR programs.
